About

I’m Alissa Volbeda, an artist and designer based in Zeeland, Michigan.

My work spans watercolor, acrylic, design, and photography, with pieces exhibited and awarded throughout West Michigan. After more than a decade working in design and photography, I returned to painting with a renewed focus, exploring the balance between softness and strength and how light, memory, and place shape the stories we carry.

I’m guided by the philosophy of my late teacher, Carol Rickey, who believed in creating with joy, meaning, and generosity. That spirit continues to shape my work, whether painting in the studio or designing for clients through Wonder Walnut Design Studio.
